Author Information

Information for presenters and session chairs/co-chairs

Presenters
The presenting author is urged to visit with their session chair/co-chair at the Speakers’ breakfast on the day of their presentation to let the chair/co-chair record his/her attendance and to provide a brief 20 second introduction. (Note that that this breakfast is available to speakers on the day of their presentation only.) Session speakers unable to attend the Speakers’ breakfast should meet with their session Chair or Co-Chair at least 20 minutes before the session start.  All session speakers should make sure to test their presentation with the provided LCD projector.

Chair/Co-chair instructions

  • Make sure to be in the room at least 20 minutes before the session starts. Contact all speakers and take note of their names and their affiliations in order to introduce them properly.
  • Please keep each paper presentation and discussion within its allocated time slot, i.e., each paper presentation should start and finish at its scheduled time. Remember that people will move from room to room in order to follow presentations they are interested in and feel disappointed if the session is not synchronized.
  • In case of a no-show, the slot should be left open to preserve synchronization of the program. The empty slot may be filled with a 20-minute discussion regarding the main theme of the session. The same approach should be followed if a presentation and discussion of a paper is concluded before the scheduled time.
  • The list of no-show papers should be collected and returned to the registration desk.
  • In case the session Chair and Co-Chair are both absent, the speaker of the first paper should take the lead.
  • Please moderate the discussion and kindly interrupt the authors if they are driving the session out of time.
  •  Please prepare some questions for the papers in your session to seed the discussion and be ready to propose some topics for discussion in the case of a no-show.
