The
ACC-08 final program is now available at https://css.paperplaza.net/conferences/conferences/2008ACC/program/.
Please see the bottom of this page for details on the "Impromptu Sessions"
listed in the program, and Author
Information page for details on the poster lay-out for the "Interactive
Sessions". The
program represents the vitality and diversity of control science and engineering
and includes about 1,000 presentations in lecture, panel, and interactive/poster
formats. New developments in both theory and application will be featured. The
former includes topics such as
| -
Biological and bio-inspired systems and systems biology
- Distributed
parameter systems
- Linear
and nonlinear model-predictive control
- Linear
and nonlinear systems theory
- Supervisory
control and discrete-event systems
- Robust
and adaptive control
- Modeling,
identification, and simulation
- Stochastic
systems and Markov processes
- Cooperative,
coordinated, and multi-agent control
- Fault
detection and accommodation and fault-tolerant systems
- Networked
control systems and control of networks
- Optimization
theory and applications
- Embedded
control and mechatronics
- Intelligent
control and autonomy
- Numerical
methods and computational tools
These
and other technology-oriented topics are complemented by papers and sessions on
traditional and emerging application areas, including - Aerospace
systems-guidance, navigation, flight control, and other aspects
-
Automotive systems-especially stability and powertrain control and hybrid vehicles
-
Autonomous vehicles-of the marine, terrestrial, and aerial variety
-
Process industries-refining, chemical, pulp and paper, pharmaceuticals, and other
process plants
- Robots
and robotics
- Information
technology and computational systems
-
MEMS and nanosystems
-
Power systems-from fuel cells to electricity grids
-
Multivehicle and formation control
-
Building and facility management
-
Financial and economic systems
-
Biomedical devices
- Manufacturing
systems
- Civil structures
and infrastructures
Other
highlights of the program include three plenary
lectures, six tutorial
sessions, and a number of special
sessions-for more details on these follow the links or select from the menu
on the left of this page. Impromptu
Sessions From
4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, the interactive sessions room, Cascade
II, will be available to ACC attendees for "impromptu" presentations
and discussions. A maximum of 20 spaces will be available for each of these two
sessions and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. A sign-up
sheet will be available by the conference registration area.
The
impromptu session spaces are intended for two activities:
- Presentations
of too-new-for-formal-submission research. Attendees with new results to share
are encouraged to present posters in the impromptu sessions. All conference attendees
are encouraged to walk through these sessions to check out the new work on display.
- Collaboration
and discussion. Small groups can reserve spaces and use the facilities provided
for discussions and for conducting research. Extra chairs and flip charts and
markers will be available for this purpose.
We
hope that conference attendees will find the impromptu sessions useful both for
furthering/establishing research collaborations and for presenting new results. |
